....when there is so much bitching and back biting that a sweet ass show like 11/11/73 doesn't even get mentioned on it's anniversary.

Download now. Go straight to the Dark Star>Mind Left Body Jam>Eyes Of The World>China Doll, Sugar Mags and try to salvage the rest of the day.

average_joe: in my "Veteran's Day" post earlier today I inquired if anybody had noticed how many outstanding shows had been played on "11/11" --- both the "GD" as well as the "Jerry Garcia Band." ...just my opinion, but I think Jerry, an individual who dedicated himself to a life of "service," pulled out "something extra" in honor of "Veteran's Day" and those who chose to "serve" our country (same date every year: 11/11)..just a thought.

Hey! I don't even listen to this time period and I have this show...if I recall, 11/11 & 11/13 both (might have this wrong). Some have mentioned that this is their all time favorite...

Thanks for the reminder.

It's certainly one of my favorite shows. All time. That's hard to tell. Top ten for '73, most definitely. The show after 11/11 is 11/14. It's just as sweet also.

A few days after that they play a show in Los Angeles on the 17th that is as good a three show run. It has a real nice Playing In The Band > Uncle John's Band > Morning Dew > Uncle John's Band > Playing In The Band, Stella Blue, El Paso, Eyes Of The World > Sugar Magnolia that raps up the second set.
I have a copy of 11/17/73 in lossless if you're interested.
